SPARK is a reproductive justice (RJ) organization based in Atlanta, GA, advocating for policies that protect and expand access to the full range of family planning options, abortion, and sexual health education for women and youth of color in the state of Georgia. Importantly, SPARK ensures the voices of women of color, young parents, and LGBTQQ youth of color living in the south are included in the reproductive rights and justice movements. Our mission is to collaborate with individuals, communities, and organizations to grow and sustain a powerful reproductive justice movement in Georgia and the South.

Internship description: 

SPARK intern will be integral components in the completion of our year-end activities and will be responsible for their own individual projects under the following areas:

  • Communications & Programs: blog, social media, online outreach, website maintenance, resource development, program development, program planning, youth outreach and leadership development through Fierce Youth Reclaiming & Empowering
  • Development and Fundraising: event planning, fundraising, donor management, research development, database management
  • Organizing and Civic Engagement: Participate in GOTV, civic engagement, base-building, and canvassing efforts.
  • Administration: Perform clerical and administrative duties as needed, create powerpoints, edit content and draft press releases and other written materials for public release.


Internship skills needed:

●Excellent communication skills
●Strong writing, speaking, and organizational skills
●Ability to maintain privacy with regard to handling confidential information
●Ability to take initiative, work independently, and prioritize work
●Experience working in a cross-cultural environment
●Experience using social media to promote and market events
●Enthusiasm, sense of humor and positive attitude
●Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

Monday - Friday; 9:30 - 5:00p; some evenings and weekends
