Access Reproductive Care-Southeast

Mission: 

We help Southerners and their families navigate the pathways to access safe, compassionate, and affordable reproductive care by providing financial and logistical support and building power in our communities through advocacy, education, and leadership development. We are an abortion fund that that wants to have transformational relationships with folks in our community. And, we believe this can be done through our direct service support program and building power through our base building work.

Internship description: 

There are several opportunities for a RRASC intern at ARC-Southeast!

1) Healthline Associate--this person would be working on with our Helathline Manager to answer calls from Southerners in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, South Carolina, and Tennessee who need funding, information, resources pertaining to reproductive health services and abortions. This is our direct service delivery program. Our Healthline is open Monday - Friday 10 AM - 4 PM; Saturdays 7 AM - 12 PM. This person would also help update our existing Healthline Handbook with information needed to be on the healthline.

2) Judicial Bypass/Waiver Information: This project would be a project where the intern would put together a guide on how to get a judicial bypass in the 6 states we serve. It has been very difficult to figure out who to talk to and where to go to get a judicial bypass, and this project will help increase our capacity to support minors in the Southeast access abortions.

3) General Operating Support--This person would help with the general office support. Helping to plan logistics around events during the summer, Answering Healthline Calls, providing support for the Programs Coordinator, Taking notes during meetings, and cleaning up our Salesforce database.

Internship skills needed: 

Required Skills:

  • Willingness to unapologetically advocate for abortion access in the Southeast.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, flexible, and sometimes unpredictable environment.

Nice to have but not required skills include:

  • Organizing
  • Familiarity with reproductive justice
  • Bi/multilingual
  • Experience living, loving and being in and from the South.

Languages required: 

English and others!

How to find us: 

Our offices are located in Downtown Atlanta and is less than a 5 minute walk from the Five Points MARTA station. There is parking, but you must pay for parking which is on average $8 a day.

Work hours: 

Monday - Friday 10-4, with some flexibility on the time and day.
