Before heading off to CLPP's 24th annual conference, 55 young and emerging activists came together for the spring meeting of our New Leadership Networking Initiative. Ever innovative and trying out new ways to increase access and engagement, the spring meeting featured live web-casting and utilized open space principles.
With the inspired energy, voices and talents of young and emerging leaders in the movement, CLPP’s Fall 2009 meeting of the New Leadership Networking Initiative addressed the challenges presented by current healthcare reform efforts and the need to build multi-issue, broad-based coalitions for reproductive justice.
On the eve of our 23rd annual conference, CLPP convened 50 members of its New Leadership Networking Initiative (NLNI) to learn about and discuss racism, power and privilege within our movements; new advocacy opportunities to develop the field of climate justice; and new ways to evaluate movement-building work.
This November, on the eve of SisterSong Women of Color Health Collective's annual Membership Meeting, over 50 social justice and reproductive rights activists gathered in Atlanta, GA.
