Internship Summary: Assisted with research on barriers to reproductive health care for women in the U.S. military deployed overseas; created a newsletter for the Cervical Barrier Enhancement Society; and translated into Spanish a study protocol for evaluation of a harm reduction service delivery model for women electing medical abortion in Lima, Peru.

Biography: Merri could not be more excited to intern with Ibis Reproductive Health after spending the spring 2011 semester abroad in southern Spain. She studies Spanish and American government at Smith College while living in a progressive-minded co-op which is nothing short of an amazing space. Ultimately, Merri aspires to be a member of the U.S. Cabinet, which really does indicate how much of a policy wonk she is. She is also passionate about disability justice, vegan cooking & baking, and traveling by foot whenever possible.
