School: University of MassachusettsAcademic Concentration: SociologyBio: Biography: Kelsie is currently approaching her final year at UMass Amherst. While she is pursuing a bachelor's degree in Sociology with a minor in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, she is also interested in an array of social justice issues such as (but definitely not limited to): women's empowerment, community organizing, access to alternative birthing options, and pretty much anything to do with the Prison Industrial Complex. She has a long standing passion for reproductive justice activism, which she has more recently began to channel into her doula training and advocacy for reproductive healthcare reform. Most of her college career has been consumed by a very intense, intimate relationship with a certain student run collective business. However, in their recent separation she has acquired more free time to explore her passions and enjoy the company of all the amazing people in her life (including her beloved cat, named Chicken). Kelsie is so excited to have the opportunity to work with an amazing group of activists/doulas, as well as the incredible women who utilize their services, and looks forward to saturating her brain with as much knowledge as it can possibly absorb.
