Organization's Mission:
Founded in 1981, Political Research Associates (PRA), is an independent nonprofit research center that serves as a national information resource on the US political Right. PRA collects and analyzes information on the anti-democratic, authoritarian and racist movements and trends, and publishes materials that explain the ideologies, strategies, agendas, and financing of these movements and their links to each other.
Internship Description:
We will work with interns to help them create projects that meet their academic requirements. Intern responsibilities will vary based on the individual’s interests and talents, and the needs of the organization, but will include all or some of the following components:
- Research and writing for PRA publications
- Proof-reading and fact-checking
- Updating and maintaining PRA’s website, www.publiceye.org
- Reviewing acquisitions to see if appropriate for library and library cataloging
- Working with Development Director on various components of outreach campaign to increase PRA’s visibility and the readership of PRA’s periodical, The Public Eye
Skills Needed:
- Windows platform, Microsoft Office programs
- Internet research techniques
- Access Database management experience is helpful but not required
- Willingness to examine domestic political movements (not electoral campaigns) is strongly preferable
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, work independently, and negotiate multiple demands on your time
