Organization's Mission:

Our mission is to produce high profile television documentaries and ancillary educational media on critical issues affecting public welfare. CQN’s projects convey their message in a dramatic, entertaining fashion with the goal of reinforcing convictions, reaching the undecided and challenging opinion. Our primary goal is to educate the public, foster debate and broaden existing discussion.

CQN’s work includes The Education of Shelby Knox (POV, 2005); The Abortion Pill (PBS, 1997); Fatherhood USA (PBS, 1998); and Live Free or Die (POV, 2000).

Internship Description:

The intern will assist in our documentary production, which might include research, working on grants, and developing new documentary ideas. We are currently producing a feature-length documentary on abortion rights on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota, and have several other projects in different stages of development.

Skills Needed:

  • Strong writing and reseach skills
  • Must be comfortable speaking with people on the phone
  • General knowledge of reproductive rights issues in America
  • Experience fundraising or grant writing is a plus
  • Work in journalism or documentary production is a plus
  • Interest in filmmaking

Language Requirements:

None.

Location:

Midtown Manhattan, close to Penn Station

Work Hours:

Monday-Friday, 10:00-6:00pm

Dress Code:

Casual
