Summer Internship Program

Ibis Reproductive Health

Organization's Mission:

Ibis Reproductive Health aims to improve women’s reproductive autonomy, choices, and health worldwide. It accomplishes its mission by conducting original clinical and social science research, leveraging existing research, producing educational resources, and promoting policies and practices that support sexual and reproductive rights and health. Ibis works closely with advocates to conceptualize research questions and to help ensure the results of its research lead to positive change in women’s lives.

Key programs include:

Abortion: Ibis works to simplify and improve abortion methods and increase access to safe, legal abortion, especially for women who face the most barriers to obtaining this service.

Contraception: Ibis works to expand women’s access to the full range of contraceptive technologies, simplify contraceptive regimens, and remove unnecessary medical restrictions on provision.

HIV/STI prevention: Ibis advances research on urgently needed female-controlled methods to prevent the transmission of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs). The organization also forges links between reproductive health and HIV prevention and treatment, fields that for too long have followed parallel but separate paths.
