Conference spaces are wheelchair accessible throughout with the following notes: to access the upper level in the Robert Crown Center (RCC), you must use an elevator located in the Harold Johnson Library, which connects to the RCC via the Bridge. There are wheelchair accessible bathrooms throughout Hampshire College campus, as well as elevators. Some doors are non-automatic; you can pick up a remote to open them at the registration table.
If you need assistance navigating conference spaces, please ask at the registration table. It takes 5-10 minutes to move between buildings in a wheelchair.
If you need ASL interpretation or have other access needs, please register for the conference by March 31st and indicate your access needs in the registration form.
We will have designated scent-safer seating at the Abortion Speak Out and at the plenaries, and will maintain clear pathways for folks who use wheelchairs and other access devices in our conference spaces.
Please be scent/fragrance-free to the extent that you are able to, so that beloved community members with chemical sensitivities can attend the conference.
The Pioneer Valley Transit Authority (PVTA), our local public transportation system, has several area buses that are free to the public. Conference organizers wearing staff T-shirts are happy to help you read maps and schedules.
Bathrooms at Hampshire College are designated All Gender, for Self-Identified Women, and for Self-Identified Men.
We provide free childcare. Please register for the conference by March 31st if you need childcare.
Meals provided begin with dinner on Friday night and end with lunch on Sunday. Vegetarian and vegan options are available for everyone. Gluten-free options are available by request from Sodexo food service staff. During meals, please refer to the food service staff for specific questions about meals or ask any of the conference organizers to assist you. There is quiet seating available during mealtimes.
Because flashing lights can trigger seizures or other symptoms, we ask that you avoid wearing or carrying decorative flashing lights and check with people around you before taking flash photography.
If you smoke (or hang around people while they smoke) please do so at least 25 feet from buildings and away from walking paths so that people can access entryways and common areas without walking through cigarette smoke. Hampshire College prohibits smoking within 25 feet of buildings. Being 50 feet away is ideal.
Please help us to diminish access barriers at the conference and continue to work and build with us so that the conference is more accessible to more people each year. If you have feedback, questions, or suggestions, or want to volunteer or help organize around access, please email clpp@hampshire.edu.
