During Friday afternoon at the conference this year, CLPP partnered with the Care Center to produce activist portraits. The Care Center is an alternative education center for pregnant and parenting teens in Holyoke, MA. From 3-4 PM during registration, Hampshire student Elise Trelegan and Care Center students Aaliyah, Yaritza, Jesenia, Elisa and Valeria provided conference participants with materials to make collages and write about why they were at the conference. The ladies from the Care Center then took pictures of participants with their collages, to be displayed at a gallery exhibit "Eyes of Our Future: Ojos de Nuestros Futuros" on May 18th at the Canal Gallery in Holyoke from 5-7 PM, and will feature photos from the conference as well as other pieces created by the Care Center photography class during Spring 2012.

It was great to see everyone exploring their connection to reproductive justice through art! All of us at CLPP and PopDev are excited to continue to build collaborations with the Care Center and all of the fabulous students and photographers. As the photos show, everyone had a great time and created beautiful creative pieces.
